Waitin’ On Paige Is Finally Here!

June 10, 2025 by Mary Pat Johns

Mary Pat Johns, June 10, 2025

At long last, the release date of Waitin’ On Paige, Book 4 of my Valiant series, is July 8th. That means it’s book launch time, since every author needs help spreading the word. I’d love for you to click the link and sign up! There’s an ARC, cool graphics to share, and a private Facebook group to join with weekly prizes. The three-week stint is truly a fun time for the participants–and I’m so encouraged by the support, I want to hug everyone daily.

Keep reading for the story blurb and excerpt.

All he wants is to reclaim her love…

Tavo Morales has returned to Valiant, Texas, to stir the embers of a relationship with the woman he has never stopped loving, but hidden reefs from his past threaten to destroy his future.

Paige Munoz wants her new event planning business to be a success and won’t let anything stand in her way. But the path she’s on to make her dreams come true proves dangerous.

Is the love Tavo and Paige once shared strong enough to survive their secrets?

Excerpt

Tavo has tried every way possible to connect with Paige again, but she has him relegated to the friend zone. Then she asks him for a favor. And turnabout is only fairplay in his mind. So he asks her out on a date. As a favor. Read the rest of their conversation…

“Paige smiled hesitantly. ‘I’ll go out with you. Once. This is just friends, right?’

‘No, Pep.’

‘No?’ Her stunned look emboldened him.

‘No.’ Dare he say it? ‘Because we’ve never been just friends.'”

I’d love for you to be part of my launch team! Sign up here for a new read and a fun time.

My Book Review Corner…

Reading … and writing reviews about Christian fiction is one of my favorite things to do.

Book Two in the Gossamer Falls series

Lynn Blackburn is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors, and I loved her latest offering, Break My Fall. When the release date for Book Two grew closer, I reread the first book, Never Fall Again. (I’ve slept since the first book and needed reacquainting with the characters and setting.) SO. GLAD. I. Did. It made for a seamless transition, and made Break My Fall that much better.

One reason I love this author’s writing is that she gets the balance right between romance and suspense. The danger is there and ongoing throughout the story, but my internal compass always searches for true north–as in, is the romance the major story or is it a mere add in. Frankly, when the suspense has me gasping on every page, it’s not a relaxing read. And yes, you guessed it–I read to wind down. Don’t need anything else to crank me up. The day’s happenings are plenty enough, thank you.

That said, I loved Gray and Meredith’s saga. Sweet. Swoon worthy. Tremendous fun. And the plot had enough twists to make a pretzel proud. The vibrant faith element made it feel like home. Keep writing, Ms Blackburn. Your books are a joy to read!
